Week-10 My reflections

Week-10 My Reflections:

Dear Donna and all,

How can we believe that we are at the end of the course but it’s a great experience to become a part of this magnificent course have a quick glance of what we have learned during 10 weeks’ time, everything planned well it includes methodology and integration of technology with latest educational tools as one of our participants mentioned in his blog post that this is not the end of our course it’s a new beginning to our teaching. Whatever we learned here, we are going to apply in our class room then only we feel that we have accomplished the course successfully.

During this week I came to know about lavish technology tool LoTi survey, after finishing this survey I comprehended my strengths and weaknesses in using technology in class, here I want to refer the Donna’s observation, It is not compulsory for the every teacher to reach High level, it always depends on our students level and the environment where we work I totally agree with her.

2nd task I completed here is sharing my understandings of the course on nice net; it’s a great pleasure to recollect what we have learned during this course. It’s just like summarizing the whole learning experiences throughout the course. This technique we can use it in our class room as well.

Thank you all,

       Vinay

Week-9 Reflections

 Week-9 Reflections:

Hi Donna and Web skills course participants,

I was so blue that we are almost looming towards the end of our course, how the time run off unknowingly, Unnoticeably, learning also occurs like this, if we look back when, where and how we learned in life, you don’t find answers to these questions.

This is a week of smart learning, how these smart tools are pertinent to the way the human brain ponders or receives information. Integration of technology tools with learning theories is absolutely heightens my knowledge.

Project Task: I was astounded with my work, I don’t know when did I write all these pages of information, in fact I am a lethargic person to write  on paper as well as online, this is my weakness, Thank you Donna and all my friends  for encouraging me to acquire  incredible confidence that I can write project reports.
It’s a countless relief, can’t be expressed in words how I felt after submitting the final draft of my project report.

Bye-bye,

Vinay

Week-8 Reflections

Week-8:My Reflections:

Hi Donna and All,

This is a week of fascinating wisdom; I was astonished with the resources provided by Donna, and most of the tools I trialed here to prepare interactive activities to my students to make the learning autonomous.

ANVILL is a mesmerizing tool which I was searching for almost last two years. Earlier I prepared Blog post using different tools like mexi cloud for audio files, YouTube for videos, Picasa for images now ANVILL is a place where we can do all these things at one place, still something is missing i.e. text to speech and speech to text if these options are available ANVILL is implausible, miraculous tool.

Technology tools like SMILE, HOTPOTATOES are stimulating and make my students more interactive and autonomous.

WEBINAR: Thank you Donna and Jeff for magnanimous opportunity to attend a webinar first time in my life, certainly it’s a countless experience for me I never imagine that a webinar should be like this it’s incredible.

Project task: Thank you Daniel for your constructive feedback, unquestionably I would make the necessary changes to my project. Here I learned how to use the check list in peer evaluation.

Week- 7 Reflections

Week - 7 My Reflections:

This week I came to know about a new tool that I can use  my class to make my students independent learners.i.e. wall wisher. This I am going to use  in my class to encourage my students to post the questions there.

Another task is to write an activity to use one computer to inspire the students to become autonomous learners. There I came to know how students are motivated  to learn if they have given a chance to participate themselves in class room activities. This task has taught me a new role teacher is playing in 21st century class-room.

Next task is to find a partner,Mr.Daniel  accepted me as his  partner thank you Daniel .

Project Task:This week I searched for information about my project i.e. E-Portfolios and Blended learning. I came across some jewels, I got enormous and  edifying information  in these websites.

 URL is :

https://stonybrook.digication.com/sbu_eportfolio/What_is_an_ePortfolio

Another link I searched here is Blended learning. Here is the link for it:

http://www.educatorstechnology.com/2013/02/the-basics-of-blended-learning.html

During my project work I stated creating kid-blogs for my students, I made them to create their profiles by uploading their photos and shown a video of a story "The Greatest Treasure Hunt"
and asked them post the summary of the story to their blogs.

I recorded some of my students presentations i.e speaking activities using my laptop webcam and posted to their blog to maintain online record of their performance, here I used the tool Drop-Box to upload videos.

Project Report:I am going to  finish  first draft of  my project report by the end of this week.

Thank you Donna and all for helping and encouraging me to complete my project.

My Kids Blogs Please visit and give me your valuable suggestions to improve my project as well as my students performance.

Cheers,

Vinay

One Computer Lesson Plan

Hello All,

9th class students of age between 13-14 years studying in regional language in rural India.
I am going to use this lesson in my project.

One computer works better if we don’t have computer lab and internet connection. It also helps the teacher to monitor the students’ participation in the class-room; during these activities students’ concentration is unbroken, they are curious to watch stories/videos.

One computer technology allows the interaction among the students through group activities and discussions. There is a much scope for students ‘oral presentations like role-plays and dramatization.
Here the teachers’ role is only a facilitator. He/she initiate the discussion and supplies the hand-outs, monitors and co-ordinate the class room activities so naturally it enhances the autonomous learning.

ABCD Objective:

After watching the story  ” The greatest Treasure ” in their class using computer (Condition), students (Audience) participate in discuss with their friends comprehend the theme (Behavior) to complete activities given at the end of the lesson to get A grade above 7 points (Degree).

Speaking: 1. Suggest a different title for this story. Why do you think that this would make a good title? (Individual activity)

Thick Questions:

Write possible question and answer them. (Group activity)

What is the main idea of this story? What details from the text support the main idea?

Write 5 words from the story and use them in your own sentences.

Write 10 sentences summarizing the story.
